Are you looking for a quick escape to an ice cave in South Iceland? The Fast Track Ice Cave Tour, is designed for those who want to include an ice cave on their Iceland holiday but are short on time. Departing from Vík, you will embark on a Super Jeep ride to a hidden ice cave found in the area. This tour is a great addition to a self-drive holiday along the Icelandic South Coast! It is also an excellent option for families, with the minimum age for this tour being just 6 years of age.
After meeting in Vík, you will embark on a Super Jeep journey to the glacier area. Super Jeeps are modified vehicles that can tackle various terrains, and the ride is an adventure in itself! The drive takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the conditions. Once you reach the glacier, it’s time to gear up. You’ll be supplied with all the necessary safety equipment on site. Your guide will also give you a safety briefing and teach you how to use the gear.
Next, you’ll go on a fun and easy walk to the ice cave. After about a 5-10 minute walk, you’ll reach this beautiful ice cave. You’ll have about 45-60 minutes to explore and take photos in the glacier area. During the tour, your guide will tell you about the ice cave and its formation and answer any questions you may have about this natural ice cave. After your visit, you’ll return to the meeting point in Vík. You can continue on your Iceland journey, whether heading west or east!
