Please allow extra travel time, especially in winter, as road and weather conditions can significantly affect driving times. (Check the latest road and weather conditions before you travel.)
Guided glacier hike on Falljökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull
Visit to a natural blue ice cave, unique and ever-changing
Small-group experience with expert glacier guides
Safety gear and instructions included
Your adventure begins with a 20-minute drive to the glacier, followed by a short 5-minute hike to reach the glacier’s edge. Here, our professional guides will provide safety gear (crampons, helmet, and harness) and demonstrate how to walk on ice safely.
Once on the glacier, you’ll hike across dramatic ice formations, crevasses, and ridges while learning about the glacier’s history and geology. The highlight of the tour is entering a naturally formed ice cave, illuminated by the magical blue light filtering through centuries-old ice.
