Your journey takes you to Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, before continuing towards the coastal village of Vík and the extraordinary Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach.
Walk along the volcanic shoreline beneath towering basalt columns and experience the raw power of the North Atlantic Ocean.
You will also visit Sólheimajökull Glacier, where a short walk brings you close to the glacier and its constantly changing landscape.
Before returning to Reykjavik, stop at beautiful Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. When conditions allow, you can follow the path behind the cascading water for a unique view.

After returning to Reykjavik, you will have time to relax and enjoy dinner before your evening adventure begins.

Reynisfjara Safety
Reynisfjara is beautiful but can be dangerous due to powerful sneaker waves.
Always follow your guide’s instructions, stay well away from the water and never turn your back on the ocean.
Northern Lights
Northern Lights sightings depend on weather, cloud cover and solar activity. Therefore, the Aurora Borealis cannot be guaranteed.
If you do not see the Northern Lights during your tour, you can join another Northern Lights coach tour free of charge within three years.

Departure from Reykjavik
Your adventure begins in Reykjavik in the morning. From the city, travel south through changing landscapes shaped by glaciers, volcanoes and the North Atlantic Ocean.
A short comfort stop is usually made around Hvolsvöllur before continuing towards the main attractions of the South Coast.
Skógafoss Waterfall
The first major natural highlight is Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls.
The waterfall drops around 60 metres from the former sea cliffs. On sunny days, the powerful spray often creates beautiful rainbows in front of the falls.
Walk close to the waterfall or climb the staircase beside it for views across the surrounding South Iceland landscape.
Vík & Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Continue towards Vík, Iceland’s southernmost village. Here, you will have time to purchase food and enjoy the surroundings.
Nearby, visit the spectacular Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. See its black volcanic sand, towering basalt columns and the famous Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the Atlantic Ocean.
Always follow your guide’s safety instructions at Reynisfjara. Powerful sneaker waves can reach much farther onto the beach than expected.
Sólheimajökull Glacier
Next, visit Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap.
A short walk takes you towards the glacier, where you can see the ice and surrounding glacial landscape up close.
Please note: this stop does not include a glacier hike or walking onto the glacier.
Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
The journey continues to beautiful Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that drops approximately 60 metres from the cliffs above.
When weather and trail conditions allow, you can follow the path behind the waterfall for a unique perspective. Waterproof clothing is highly recommended — expect to get wet!
Return to Reykjavik & Dinner Break
After exploring the South Coast, return to Reykjavik.
You will have free time between the two parts of the experience. Use this opportunity to enjoy dinner, warm up and prepare for the Northern Lights tour.
Northern Lights Hunt
After dark, leave Reykjavik again and head away from the city lights in search of the Aurora Borealis.
The exact destination changes from night to night. Your guides monitor cloud cover, weather and aurora forecasts before selecting a suitable viewing location.
While waiting for the lights, enjoy homemade hot chocolate beneath Iceland’s dark night sky.
