Silfra Wetsuit Snorkeling Self Drive

Experience the crystal-clear waters of Silfra on this Silfra Wetsuit Snorkeling Self Drive adventure in Þingvellir National Park. Meet your guide on location and explore one of Iceland’s most extraordinary underwater landscapes.

Unlike drysuit snorkeling, a wetsuit allows greater freedom of movement in the water and the opportunity to dive below the surface. The experience is colder, but it offers a more immersive way to discover Silfra’s remarkable underwater world.

Snorkel Between Two Continents

Silfra is a freshwater fissure located in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can snorkel within the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Silfra is famous for its exceptionally clear water and incredible underwater visibility. No diving licence or previous diving experience is required, although participants must know how to swim, feel comfortable in the water and meet all participation requirements.

Self Drive to Silfra

This is a self-drive tour, so transportation from Reykjavík is not included. You make your own way to Silfra and meet your Adventure Vikings guide at the designated meeting location.

All necessary snorkeling equipment, an English-speaking guide and free underwater photos are included. After your snorkeling experience, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.

The complete Silfra Wetsuit Snorkeling Self Drive experience takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes
