The Stand Up Paddleboard: Into the Hvalförður Fjord Tour (SUP)
Just outside of Reykjavík lies the beautiful Hvalfjörður Fjord. Before the opening of the Hvalfjörður underwater tunnel in the ’90s, the fjord served as an important connection between West and South Iceland. After the opening of the tunnel, the fjord was mostly overlooked by local and foreign travelers alike. Favoring the shorter tunnel route, Hvalfjörður was in many ways forgotten despite its natural beauty. Home to natural attractions such as the Glymur waterfall, Hvalfjörður is slowly but surely making its way back on the map.
On this tour, you will get to experience Hvalfjörður in a totally unique way! After pickup in Reykjavík, you will drive for about one hour to your destination in Hvalfjörður. Once there you will gear up in drysuits or wetsuits before hitting the water. This experience is suitable for both beginners and those with more experience. Your guide will tailor the tour to your experience level and if you are a beginner he will teach you the ropes.
Once out on the ocean, you will be able to experience some incredible views. Surrounded by mountains, paddleboarding surrounded by such natural beauty is sure to be an unforgettable experience. After the tour, your guide will take you back to your selected location in Reykjavík in the afternoon.
Please note that SUP tours are highly dependent on weather and sea conditions. This tour can be changed or canceled with short notice for safety reasons. You do not need to have SUP experience to enjoy this tour, but you do need to meet some minimum requirements.
Please review the FAQ section for this tour carefully before booking.
