The Stand Up Paddleboard: Midnight Sun in Reykjavík Tour (SUP)
During the summer months, Iceland is blessed with seemingly endless nights. On this stand up paddleboard (SUP) tour you will be able to experience Iceland’s midnight sun in a completely unique way. With the Grótta Lighthouse as your backdrop, you will be able to enjoy amazing views while gently paddling on the Faxaflói Bay. On a clear day, the panoramic view reaches all the way to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. You might also see Akrafjall, Skarðsheiði and Mt. Esja. If you’re staying in Reykjavík during the summer months, you won’t want to miss this experience!
After pickup in Reykjavík, you will drive to the Grótta Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is only a 10-minute drive from the city center. This is a popular spot to enjoy the sunset, for visitors and locals alike. Once on location, you will gear up in wetsuits or drysuits – depending on your preference. Your guide will show you how to paddle and give you a safety briefing before you go out on the water. You will go into the water from a sandy beach, which makes this very easy for SUP beginners. After enjoying the midnight sun on the stand up paddleboards, you might be able to relax in a warm jacuzzi located near the lighthouse. After the tour, you will be returned to your selected location in Reykjavík.
Please note that SUP tours are highly dependent on weather and sea conditions. This tour can be changed or canceled with short notice for safety reasons. You do not need to have SUP experience to enjoy this tour, but you do need to meet some minimum requirements.
