Discover glaciers, waterfalls and black sand landscapes on a Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and South Coast Tour from Reykjavik. Travel across South Iceland before sailing among floating icebergs on one of Iceland’s most spectacular glacier lagoons.
This full-day adventure takes approximately 14 hours. Along the way, explore Jökulsárlón, Diamond Beach, Stjórnarfoss, Vík and Seljalandsfoss.
Best of all, the experience includes a 30-minute boat ride on Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
The highlight of the day is Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs break away from Breiðamerkurjökull and slowly drift across the water.
Here, enjoy an approximately 30-minute boat ride through the lagoon. Get a closer look at the floating ice and experience this constantly changing glacial landscape from the water.
The colours, shapes and sizes of the icebergs change continuously. Therefore, every visit to Jökulsárlón offers something different.
Next to the lagoon lies the famous Diamond Beach.
Here, pieces of glacial ice wash onto the black volcanic sand after travelling from Jökulsárlón towards the Atlantic Ocean.
The contrast between clear and blue ice and the dark coastline creates one of South Iceland’s most distinctive landscapes.
The journey also includes a visit to Stjórnarfoss Waterfall, a beautiful stop surrounded by South Iceland’s dramatic scenery.
Later, visit Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland’s southernmost village. Depending on the season and daylight, you can enjoy dinner or take a short walk towards the coast and see the famous Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
Finally, stop at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. When conditions allow, you can follow the path behind the falling water for an unforgettable view.
The tour may also include a photo stop at Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon when time, visibility and conditions allow.
