The first major highlight is Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most recognisable waterfalls.
When conditions allow, a path leads behind the waterfall and offers a unique view through the falling water. Waterproof clothing is highly recommended, as you may get wet near the falls.
Gljúfrabúi Waterfall
Nearby, discover Gljúfrabúi, a waterfall partly hidden inside a narrow canyon.
Reaching the best viewing area depends on weather and ground conditions. When accessible, it offers a very different experience from neighbouring Seljalandsfoss.
Skógafoss Waterfall
Continue east to impressive Skógafoss, where water plunges approximately 60 metres from the cliffs of Iceland’s former coastline.
Enjoy time to admire the waterfall and surrounding scenery before continuing towards the glacial landscapes of the South Coast.
