Join an unforgettable adventure from Reykjavik to Langjökull glacier, home to the world-famous man-made ice cave. This Into the Glacier tour is designed for every adventure lover who wants to experience Iceland’s breathtaking wilderness from the inside of a glacier.
Your pick-up in Reykjavik begins 30 minutes before departure. Free pick-up is available from the Central Bus Station (BSI), with optional extra-paid designated stops.
The journey to Langjökull is incredibly scenic. Along the way, we’ll stop at the stunning Hraunfossar waterfalls, where crystal-clear water flows through ancient lava fields. “Hraun” means lava in Icelandic, and the waterfalls are a reminder of the glacier’s volcanic past.
Once we reach the glacier’s edge, specially modified glacier vehicles will take you across the icy terrain to the entrance of the ice cave. From there, experienced English-speaking guides will lead you inside Langjökull glacier for an awe-inspiring one-hour walk. Marvel at the dazzling blue ice deep within Iceland’s second-largest glacier – a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
The tour lasts the whole day, and you will return to Reykjavik around 19:00. Along the way, you’ll have time to enjoy panoramic glacier views and the raw beauty of Iceland’s highlands.
Please bring warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, a water bottle, and food. Meals are not included, but snack stops are available at gas stations.
