Experience two of Iceland’s most popular attractions in one unforgettable day on this Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Tour from Reykjavík. Explore the famous Golden Circle, discover volcanic landscapes and relax in the naturally warm waters of Iceland’s historic Secret Lagoon.
This award-winning 10-hour Golden Circle tour visits Kerið Volcanic Crater, the Secret Lagoon, Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss Waterfall and Þingvellir National Park. Together, these stops combine Iceland’s geology, history and geothermal energy with a relaxing hot spring experience.
BusTravel Iceland’s Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Tour was named a Viator Experience Award Winner 2025 and ranked among Viator’s Top 20 experiences in Northern Europe.
Your Golden Circle adventure includes a visit to Kerið, a striking volcanic crater lake known for its colourful slopes and vivid blue-green water.
The crater formed thousands of years ago and offers a fascinating introduction to the volcanic forces that continue to shape Iceland today.
From the rim, enjoy impressive views across the crater and surrounding South Iceland landscape.
Next, slow down and enjoy one of the most relaxing experiences on the Golden Circle.
The Secret Lagoon, or Gamla Laugin, is Iceland’s oldest geothermal swimming pool. Its naturally heated water remains at approximately 38–40°C (100–104°F) throughout the year.
Surrounded by steaming geothermal terrain, the lagoon offers an authentic Icelandic bathing experience. This tour also benefits from an earlier visit to the lagoon, helping you enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere before the busiest part of the day.
After your geothermal soak, continue to the famous Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur Valley.
Walk among steaming vents, hot springs and bubbling geothermal features. The star attraction is Strokkur, an active geyser that regularly sends hot water high into the air.
There is also time to explore the area and purchase food before continuing the journey.
A short drive from Geysir brings you to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls.
Here, the glacial Hvítá River plunges dramatically into a rugged canyon. Several viewpoints provide different perspectives of the waterfall and its surrounding landscape.
Gullfoss is one of the three classic attractions that made Iceland’s Golden Circle famous around the world.
The journey continues to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with extraordinary geological and historical importance.
Þingvellir lies within the active rift zone between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. It is also the historic site where Iceland’s Alþingi parliament was established in 930 AD.
Together, its dramatic geology and remarkable history make Þingvellir one of Iceland’s most significant destinations.
Combining Iceland’s classic Golden Circle attractions with a relaxing visit to the Secret Lagoon makes this tour an excellent choice for travellers who want more than sightseeing alone.
In approximately 10 hours, you’ll experience volcanic landscapes, erupting geysers, a powerful waterfall, Icelandic history and naturally heated geothermal water — all in one day from Reykjavík.

Next, travel to Flúðir for a relaxing visit to the Secret Lagoon, also known as Gamla Laugin.

A short drive brings you to magnificent Gullfoss Waterfall.
Fed by the glacial Hvítá River, Gullfoss plunges in two stages into a dramatic canyon. Follow the viewing paths to experience one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls from different perspectives.
The final Golden Circle highlight is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Discover the remarkable rift landscape created by the movement of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Þingvellir also holds enormous historical importance as the site where Iceland’s Alþingi was established in 930 AD.
After exploring Þingvellir, relax on the journey back to Reykjavík.
