The Golden Circle, Kerið, and Farm Visit tour takes you to the highlights of the Golden Circle. On this full-day tour, you’ll visit the traditional highlights such as Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Geysir hot spring area. You’ll also visit sights such as the Kerið Crater and a traditional Icelandic dairy farm. As if that wasn’t good enough, this tour also includes free ice cream! If you are looking for a family-friendly tour of the Golden Circle, we recommend this one!
After pickup in the morning, you’ll depart from Reykjavík and head straight to the Golden Circle. You will visit all of the most famous sights found on this well-known trail. At Þingvellir, you can see where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart, and learn more about Icelandic history. Þingvellir is where the Alþing general assembly was established around 930 AD. At the Geysir hot spring area, you’ll visit the geyser Stokkur erupt at regular intervals, a sight that is sure to amaze you. You’ll also visit one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, Gullfoss. This waterfall has been voted as one of the world’s most beautiful waterfall, and you will get to see why with your own eyes!
Other stops on this tour include the Kerið Crater, a stunning volcanic crater. Formed in an eruption some 3,000 years ago, this crater has a lake in the middle of it. A visit to Kerið crater is a great opportunity to learn more about Icelandic geological history. Also included is a stop at the Faxi waterfall. Although not as big as some of Iceland’s other waterfalls, it is no less beautiful.
This tour of the Golden Circle would not be complete without a visit to Efstidalur, an Icelandic dairy farm. Run by the same family since 1850, this farm focuses on cows and cattle breeding. Here you’ll be able to enjoy some tasty dairy products, straight from the farm. Included in the tour is, of course, a taste of their delicious ice cream, which you can enjoy while petting some friendly animals.
