The Freedive Silfra Day Tour
The Freedive Silfra tour is a great option for those who want to dive in Silfra, but do not have dry suit certifications. Unlike scuba diving, you do not need dry suit certification to go on this tour! This tour offers a great opportunity to experience freediving, no matter if you are a beginner or an advanced freediver. Everyone who knows how to swim can enjoy this tour.
Silfra is one of the top freedive sites in the world, with visibility of over 100 meters on most days. With the best freedive gear available, you’ll dive between the continents in the Silfra fissure.
This tour is not available with pickup in Reykjavík. At Silfra, you will suit up in wetsuits and walk to Silfra (approx. 2 min). There you will get a safety briefing and learn a bit more about freediving and the Silfra fissure. Afterward, it’s time to get into Silfra and have fun! You can stay in Silfra for as long as you want once you are in the water. Once you are ready to get on dry land again, you’ll be welcomed with some hot cocoa.

No, unfortunately, you can not participate in this tour if you are pregnant.
All participants must bring a swimsuit to wear under their freediving suit. Please also bring a towel with you.
No, the age limit for this tour is not flexible.
The meeting point for this tour is at Silfra, which is located by the Þingvellir National Park.
Please park your car at the P5 parking lot and remember to pay the parking fee into the meter and display the ticket you receive in the window of your car.
From the parking lot, you walk about 400 meters where you’ll find the meeting point on your left-hand side.
This tour is not available with pickup from Reykjavík
On average, the duration of this tour is about 4 hours. That does not include transfer to and from Reykjavík.
Reservations can be canceled 48 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.
Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 48 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
If you do need to cancel your tour, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
The meeting point for this tour is located about 400 meters from the P5 parking lot at Þingvellir National Park. It takes about 45-60 minutes to drive to Þingvellir from Reykjavík.
Please be on location at least 15 minutes before the start of your tour.
If you do not have a rental car you can add transfers to and from Reykjavík when you book the tour.
