Experience some of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders on this 5-Day Iceland Tour combining the Golden Circle, South Coast, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, an ice cave and Northern Lights adventures.
Your journey includes three action-packed days of guided exploration in a small group. Discover powerful waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers and geothermal landscapes while travelling through South Iceland.
You’ll also have time to explore Reykjavík independently, while four nights of accommodation with a private bathroom provide a comfortable base throughout your adventure.
Begin your guided journey with Iceland’s famous Golden Circle.
Explore Þingvellir National Park before visiting the active geothermal landscape around Geysir. Then, experience the power of magnificent Gullfoss waterfall.
Continue towards the South Coast, where Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss await. On clear days, you may also enjoy views towards Eyjafjallajökull before continuing towards Vík.
Journey deeper into Southeast Iceland and discover the extraordinary landscapes surrounding Vatnajökull.
Visit spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs drift through the glacial water. Nearby, explore Diamond Beach and see pieces of glacier ice scattered across the black volcanic shoreline.
Another highlight is a guided ice cave experience with a certified glacier guide.
However, glaciers constantly change. Therefore, the exact ice cave visited depends on the season, weather and safety conditions. If conditions prevent access, Arctic Adventures may visit another ice cave or offer a glacier experience instead.
Your journey also brings you into Iceland’s spectacular glacier landscape.
Professional glacier guides provide the necessary safety equipment and lead the experience. Along the way, discover incredible ice formations and learn more about Iceland’s constantly changing glaciers.
Weather and glacier conditions determine the exact location and activity.
The adventure also gives you opportunities to experience Iceland’s magical Northern Lights.
The itinerary includes a Northern Lights boat tour during your first evening in Reykjavík and a Northern Lights minibus tour later in the trip.
Aurora sightings always depend on weather, cloud cover and solar activity. Therefore, sightings can never be guaranteed.
With accommodation, guided adventures and some of Iceland’s most famous natural attractions combined into five days, this tour offers an easy way to experience the highlights of Iceland in winter.
The tour includes guided sightseeing, 4 nights of accommodation, glacier and ice cave experiences, plus Northern Lights tours.
The exact ice cave depends on the season, weather and glacier conditions. Arctic Adventures may change the cave or glacier activity when necessary for safety.
The itinerary includes both a Northern Lights boat tour and minibus tour. However, aurora sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
The minimum age for this tour is 8 years.
Arrive in Reykjavík and make your way to your accommodation. After checking in, enjoy free time to explore Iceland’s capital at your own pace.
In the evening, head out on a Northern Lights boat tour and search for the aurora away from the city lights.
Please remember that Northern Lights sightings depend on weather and solar activity and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
Your guided adventure begins with the famous Golden Circle.
First, visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its history and remarkable geology.
Next, explore the Geysir geothermal area and watch Strokkur erupt. Then, continue to spectacular Gullfoss waterfall.
Afterwards, travel south to Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. On a clear day, you may also enjoy views of Eyjafjallajökull.
Continue towards the coastal village of Vík, where you’ll stay overnight.
Start the day at Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, famous for its basalt columns, powerful Atlantic waves and dramatic Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
Then, continue east towards Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Here, enormous icebergs drift through the lagoon beneath Vatnajökull.
Nearby, visit Diamond Beach, where pieces of glacier ice wash onto the black volcanic shore.
Next comes one of the tour’s biggest adventures: a guided ice cave experience with a certified glacier guide.
The exact cave depends on the season and current conditions. Safety always comes first, so Arctic Adventures may change the location or activity when necessary.
Begin the day with another adventure in Iceland’s spectacular glacier landscape.
Your certified glacier guide provides the necessary safety equipment and instructions before heading onto the ice. Explore fascinating glacier formations while learning more about this constantly changing environment.
Afterwards, begin the journey back towards Reykjavík with sightseeing stops along the way.
In the evening, join a Northern Lights minibus tour for another opportunity to search for the aurora.
Enjoy your final morning and day in Reykjavík at your own pace.
After checking out of your accommodation, explore the city, visit local attractions or simply relax before continuing your journey.
This concludes your 5-Day Iceland Tour through the Golden Circle, South Coast and spectacular glacier landscapes of Iceland.
