2 Day South Coast & Ice Cave Tour
You will be picked up from your selected location in Reykjavik at the time stated on your voucher; please note that it can take up to 30 minutes to be picked up.
Day 1
We will start by driving down Route 1 to the famous Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Myrdalsjokull. Next is the coastal village of Vik, where you will find Reynisfjara, the famous Black Sand Beach.
As the day passes, we’ll head deeper into the countryside to our accommodation in Skaftafell, where we can enjoy a relaxing evening and recharge for the coming day. If the weather allows, we will top off our day by witnessing Iceland’s quintessential natural phenomenon: the Northern Lights.
Day 2
We will start early and head towards Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Next, we head to an Ice Cave where our certified guides will ensure a safe and exciting experience. Ice Caves are only found during the wintertime when the glacial rivers retract, and the water freezes.
Please note!
Your safety is our priority, and sometimes weather or road conditions mean that access to certain ice caves is unavailable and unsafe. Our main ice cave in the winter is the Crystal Ice Cave. However, at times when it’s inaccessible, we’ll visit an alternative ice cave. During the summer months (from April to October), we’ll see the Ice Cave Under the Volcano – Katla Ice Cave. If it’s inaccessible, we’ll do a glacier hike instead.
The tour operator reserves the right to change itineraries and/or due to adverse weather or other related conditions.
Please note that the food is not included (except for breakfast on the second day).
Please wear warm and waterproof clothes and proper hiking shoes.
We always recommend booking a multi-day tour starting at least one day after arriving in Iceland. If you’re flying in from the US or will be landing early (4–6:30 AM), you should be able to join the tour, but some risks would follow (i.e., if the flight gets delayed) and could, therefore, miss out on the tour.
A single supplement is required for single travelers – please add it while booking.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is canceled 2 days or less before the event.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if the booking is canceled 14 days or less before the event
We will charge a cancellation fee of 0% if the booking is canceled 365 days or less before the event.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.
Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 48 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
If you do need to cancel your tour, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
