Embark on a full-day guided tour to the enchanting Snæfellsnes National Park, a region often called “Iceland in Miniature” thanks to its diverse landscapes. After pickup from your accommodation in Reykjavík, your adventure begins as you head west to experience waterfalls, beaches, dramatic cliffs, and the iconic glacier-capped volcano Snæfellsjökull—the inspiration behind Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.
The first stop is Ytri-Tunga Beach, known for its resident seal colony. With some luck, you’ll spot them lounging on the shore. Next, explore the charming coastal villages Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where moss-covered lava formations and basalt cliffs meet the roaring Atlantic. A stroll along the seaside cliffs offers unforgettable views and fresh sea air.
Your journey continues to Lóndrangar, striking black basalt sea stacks, followed by Djúpalónssandur, a dramatic black pebble beach once used as a training ground for fishermen. Here, traditional “lifting stones” tested the strength of sailors, ranging from 23 kg to a daunting 154 kg. Can you match the feats of Icelandic fishermen of old?
The tour concludes at Kirkjufell, Iceland’s most photographed mountain, paired with the graceful Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. This iconic sight has captured the hearts of travelers and photographers from around the world.
This small-group, English-guided day trip combines Iceland’s natural wonders into one incredible journey. From seal colonies to glaciers, from black beaches to dramatic mountains, every stop is a highlight. Reserve your seat today and secure an unforgettable adventure through Snæfellsnes National Park.
