Take off on an unforgettable helicopter ride over Iceland’s volcanic wonders. The Volcanic Craters Helicopter Tour offers breathtaking views of the Reykjanes Peninsula, a region known for geothermal activity, lava fields, and rugged coastlines.
One of the main highlights is the Eldvörp crater row. This chain of craters stretches for 10 kilometers, with steam rising dramatically from the ground. Seeing it from above changes your perspective completely. Even better, the tour includes a landing near Eldvörp, so you can step out and experience this geothermal marvel up close.
In addition, you will fly over the colorful Seltún geothermal area, where bubbling hot springs and vibrant mineral deposits create otherworldly scenery. Moreover, the famous Blue Lagoon comes into view from the sky, its bright blue waters standing out against dark lava landscapes.
The journey also includes aerial views of Lake Kleifarvatn and the striking green waters of Lake Grænavatn. Both lakes sit in volcanic surroundings, making them perfect examples of Iceland’s dramatic terrain. While you enjoy the flight, you will also see the peninsula’s coastline. Its rugged cliffs and crashing Atlantic waves create a spectacular contrast to the geothermal areas inland.
The entire tour lasts between 65 and 90 minutes. Flight time is usually 40 to 60 minutes, while the landing stop adds another 15 minutes to the adventure. As a result, travelers enjoy both an exciting flight and the chance to connect with nature on the ground.
Overall, the Volcanic Craters Helicopter Tour combines adventure, natural beauty, and unique experiences. Therefore, it is perfect for visitors who want to see Iceland’s landscapes in a thrilling and memorable way.
