Experience the crystal-clear waters of Silfra on this Silfra Wetsuit Snorkeling from Reykjavík adventure. Travel from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park and explore one of Iceland’s most remarkable underwater landscapes with an experienced guide.
Wetsuit snorkeling offers greater freedom of movement than a drysuit and gives you the opportunity to go below the surface and experience Silfra from a different perspective.
Located in Þingvellir National Park, Silfra is a freshwater fissure within the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The exceptionally clear water provides incredible underwater visibility as you snorkel through the volcanic landscape. No diving licence or previous diving experience is required, although you must know how to swim and feel comfortable in the water.
This version of the tour includes transportation from Reykjavík, so there is no need to drive yourself to Þingvellir.
All necessary snorkeling equipment and an English-speaking guide are provided. Free underwater photos are also included, and after your snorkeling experience you can warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.
The wetsuit does not keep you dry, making this a colder and more adventurous alternative to drysuit snorkeling. The actual snorkeling portion typically lasts around 30–40 minutes.
A wetsuit gives you greater freedom of movement and allows you to go below the surface. Unlike a drysuit, a wetsuit does not keep you dry, so the experience is colder and more immersive.
