Then, head underground for a guided adventure inside Viðgelmir Lava Cave, one of Iceland’s remarkable lava tube systems.

The peninsula brings together many of the landscapes Iceland is famous for. Expect dramatic mountains, volcanic scenery, black sand beaches, fishing villages and spectacular coastlines.
The mighty Snæfellsjökull glacier and volcano dominates the peninsula and provides an impressive backdrop as you explore this remarkable part of West Iceland.
The tour includes one night of accommodation in a double or twin room with a private bathroom, as well as breakfast the following morning.
Pickup and drop-off within Reykjavík are also included. Therefore, you can experience two full days in West Iceland without worrying about driving or arranging accommodation yourself.

Your 2-Day Snæfellsnes Tour begins with pickup in Reykjavík between 08:30 and 09:00.
Travel west towards Bifröst, where you’ll visit beautiful Glanni Waterfall surrounded by ancient lava fields and volcanic scenery.
Continue to Deildartunguhver, one of Europe’s most powerful hot springs, before visiting historic Reykholt, closely connected with Icelandic writer and chieftain Snorri Sturluson.
Next, visit Sturlureykir, a family-run Icelandic horse farm.
Meet the friendly Icelandic horses and learn about the farm’s geothermal history. Natural hot water has been used here since the early 1900s, including for baking traditional Icelandic rye bread.
Continue to spectacular Hraunfossar, where countless streams of water emerge from beneath the lava field and flow into the Hvítá River.
Nearby, visit Barnafoss, a powerful series of rapids rushing through a narrow volcanic gorge.
One of the highlights of the day is a guided exploration of Viðgelmir Lava Cave.
Spend approximately 1.5 hours underground, exploring the enormous lava tube on established walkways. Discover colourful lava formations, fascinating geology and seasonal ice formations while learning how volcanic activity created the cave.
Afterwards, continue to Borgarnes, where you’ll spend the night.
After breakfast, set out to explore the magnificent Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called “Iceland in Miniature.”
The day includes some of West Iceland’s most impressive coastal and volcanic landscapes.
