River Fun Rafting on the Golden Circle
Rafting has been a favorite adventure activity amongst Icelanders since 1985, when we began running river trips from Drumbó River Base. From Gullfoss waterfall, a glorious canyon descends, creating the perfect scene for a fun rafting experience with a perfect mix of serene canyons and adrenaline-pumping waves and rapids. On this beautiful rafting journey on the Hvítá river, you raft down 7 kilometers, enjoying a view you can only experience while floating downstream in a boat. You will be making a stop at Brúarhlöð canyon, where the thrill-seekers can cliff jump into the river below if the conditions allow. This tour is suitable for most ages and abilities; all you need is the desire for adventure. We firmly believe that a journey down a fun and beautiful glacier river should be on everyone‘s bucket list.
After the excitement, you can warm up in the hot tubs and sauna, relax and maybe even enjoy a well-earned beverage.

What do I need to bring?
Warm undergarment clothing including fleece/wool sweater and pants, warm socks, change of clothing, bathing suit & towel. All rafting trips are undertaken on the responsibility of their participants.
Arctic Rafting does not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused by its customers or can be traced to their own actions. Participants must sign a waiver before undertaking all trips stating that they realize that all outdoor activities carry an inherent risk.

Drumbo River Base is our beloved rafting headquarters situated within the Golden Circle, just a short drive from the iconic Gullfoss waterfall and even closer to Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. From Reykjavík, it takes about 1.5 hours to reach Drumbo from Reykjavík. All of our rafting tours begin from Drumbó and there we get geared up for rafting.

Yes, you can bring your camera. However, if it’s not waterproof then it will get ruined.
Luckily, you have a few options to get that great photo;
1. You own a waterproof camera or phone that you bring with you
2. You use our specifically designed laminating machine and make your phone waterproof while still being operational for the river ride.
3. You rent a GoPro from us at Drumbó River Base
4. You buy a disposable waterproof camera at the Drumbó River Base.
Reservations can be canceled 48 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.
Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 48 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
If you do need to cancel your tour, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
