The Reykjavik Northern Lights Cruise offers an unforgettable experience to witness the stunning Aurora Borealis away from the bustling city lights. This captivating cruise takes guests on a thrilling adventure in search of the Northern Lights from September to April, providing the perfect conditions for viewing. Guests will enjoy watching the lights change in intensity, color, and movement across the vast night sky, all while gently rocking on the ocean waves.
This unique Reykjavik Northern Lights Cruise ensures comfort and convenience for all passengers. It features heated indoor areas, an onboard café, and a 360° viewing platform that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the sky. Expert aurora guides accompany the tour, enhancing the experience by sharing insights about the Northern Lights and answering any questions. They even capture beautiful moments during the cruise, allowing guests to request photos via email after the tour. To help everyone stay warm, the crew provides overalls, while guests are encouraged to bring hats and gloves.
Guests should arrive at the Elding office at the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavík at least 20 minutes before departure. Here, they can exchange their pre-paid vouchers for boarding tickets. An expert guide will welcome everyone in the Visitor Centre, located on an old fishing vessel permanently docked by the pier. The cruise departs into the dark waters of Faxaflói Bay, leaving behind the bright city as passengers embark on their search for the magical auroras. Those opting for a pick-up service should be ready at a designated bus stop 45 minutes before departure.
Although the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon with no guarantees for sightings, the team at Elding prides itself on being professional aurora hunters with years of experience. They strive to maximize opportunities for viewing the lights and, if the auroras are not visible, guests can join another Reykjavik Northern Lights Cruise at no extra cost, valid for two years. This policy ensures that guests can return as many times as needed to experience the stunning beauty of the Northern Lights. Don’t miss the chance to create unforgettable memories under the Icelandic sky!
