The Golden Circle has all of Iceland’s must-visit and most famous sights. This popular region is rich in history and boasts powerful waterfalls, geothermal hot pools, erupting geysers, separating continental plates, and delicious food production, all on Reykjavik’s doorstep.
Your pick-up in Reykjavik starts at 8:30 from your hotel or designated bus stop. Please note it can take up to 30 minutes.
The Secret Lagoon
We head straight to warm up and soak in the natural hot springs of the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest natural swimming pool. We will be there early, when it is quietest, allowing us to truly relax and soak in the magic of this fantastic geothermal pool. A great way to start the day!
Please take your swimsuit with you.
Towel or bathing suite hire for The Secret Lagoon is not included in the tour price. This can be hired upon arrival at The Secret Lagoon for 700 ISK.
Friðheimar Tomato Greenhouse
Afterward, we will warm up by enjoying a unique lunch inside the tomato greenhouse farm Friðheimar where they produce over one tonne of tomatoes daily. Having lunch amongst all the tomato plants in the greenhouse is something you will never forget.
Please note that lunch at Friðheimar Tomato Greenhouse is a set menu with famous tomato soup with homemade bread, grilled tortilla pizza, ravioli pasta, and coffee or tea. Desserts and other drinks purchase extra but are not included in the tour price.
Gullfoss
Next, we witness the force of Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. On sunny days, rainbows appear in the mist of this golden-hued waterfall.
Geysir
From there, it is only a short drive to see the wonders of the geothermal area of Geysir, the original exploding geyser, and its surrounding steam vents.
Þingvellir National Park
After all this, we drive onto the famous Þingvellir National Park. This National Park holds historical and geological significance, and Þingvellir is the site of the first known parliament in the world, where many of Iceland’s most important decisions were made. It is also a place of incredible beauty, sitting in the rift valley separating the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
From there, it’s a short drive back into town, reaching Reykjavik in time for dinner.
