Experience Iceland’s most famous natural wonders on our Golden Circle Afternoon Tour. This route is perfect for travelers who want history, geology, and stunning scenery in one unforgettable trip.
The Golden Circle includes three iconic stops: Þingvellir National Park, Geysir Hot Springs, and Gullfoss Waterfall. Some departures also add the volcanic crater lake Kerið, a striking reminder of Iceland’s fiery past.
Your journey begins at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, Iceland founded the world’s first parliament, Alþingi, over a thousand years ago. You can also see the Silfra fissure, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart.
Next, explore the geothermal valley of Geysir. Watch Strokkur erupt boiling water up to 30 meters high every few minutes. The steaming pools and bubbling hot springs make this area one of Iceland’s most dramatic natural wonders.
The final highlight is Gullfoss, the “Golden Waterfall.” This two-tiered cascade plunges into a rugged canyon, creating power and spray that leave visitors in awe.
The Golden Circle remains one of the most popular day tours in Iceland. Its close distance to Reykjavík and variety of sights make it a perfect introduction to the country. Our knowledgeable guides share stories of Icelandic history, culture, and nature along the way, bringing each stop to life.
Please note: We visit Kerið crater only on morning departures. Tours starting at 12:00 or later do not include this site.
For comfort, wear warm, water- and windproof clothing and sturdy walking shoes. Iceland’s weather changes quickly, and proper gear ensures you enjoy every moment.
Join us for an afternoon of unforgettable landscapes, fascinating history, and the very best of Iceland’s natural beauty.
