The Twin Peaks ATV Tour

The Twin Peaks ATV tour is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a fun excursion in Reykjavík. With a 2-hour ride on powerful ATVs, you can get your adrenaline going on the outskirts of Reykjavík. Available year-round, this tour can be enjoyed as an excursion from Reykjavík or as an addition to a day exploring South Iceland. This tour is an excellent activity for families. Kids from 6 years of age can participate in this tour. 

Reykjavík is a growing city, but quaint natural areas surround it. These areas serve as a playground for locals and travelers alike. Just a 15 minutes drive from the city center, you’ll find the ATV base camp, ideally located for fun excursions from the city.

After gearing up at the base camp, you’ll go on a scenic ride in the area around Lake Hafravatn. The area around this stunning lake is home to peaks such as Harfafell and Úlfarsfell. Both offer spectacular views over Reykjavík, letting you see the city from a completely different angle. During this tour, you’ll get 1.5 – 2 hours full of ATV action. As you explore this beautiful area, you’ll try out various terrains. That way, you can get the most out of your ATV adventure!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a valid drivers license to drive an ATV?

Yes, a valid driver‘s license is required to operate an ATV. If you do not have such a license but are traveling with a partner who does, you can ride on the back of his/her snowmobile.

What is the difference between a double ride and a single ride?

The standard version of this tour has two persons riding an ATV. This is called a double ride.

You can book the tour with the additional single rider fee (solo), which means that one person rides each ATV.

Please note that if you are traveling solo, you must book this tour with the single rider fee. Double rides are not shared with other guests on the tour.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, this is a great activity for families with kids. Children 6 years and older are welcome on this tour. Children 6-16 years of age ride on the back of an ATV.

Are pickup and drop-off included in this tour?

No, pickup and dropoff are not included in the tour price but you can add transfer services from Reykjavík at booking.

The transfer cost is 3,500 ISK per person.

I have my own vehicle and would like to meet on location. Where is the meeting point for this tour?

The meeting point for this tour is at Lambhagavegur. It takes about 15 minutes to drive there from the center of Reykjavík.

Please note that you must be on location at least 15 minutes before the start of your tour.

What is the duration of this tour?

You will spend 1,5 – 2 hours on the ATV’s. With gearing up the tour is about 2,5 hours in total.

Allow up to 3 – 3,5 hours for the whole experience, including transfer to and from Reykjavík.

What should I wear on this tour?

You should wear warm, comfortable clothing and good, sturdy shoes.

You will be supplied with warm overalls, gloves, balaclava and helmet.

What safety equipment is included on the ATV tour?

You will be supplied with helmets and other appropriate safety equipment for the ATV tour.

What if the weather is bad, will the tour be canceled?

The tour operator reserves the right to alter the itinerary according to weather and road conditions. If a tour is canceled due to bad weather, we will work together to either find another date for you to go on the tour (if possible) or provide you with a full refund.

What is the cancellation policy for this tour?

Reservations can be canceled 24 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.

Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 24 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
