Discover the breathtaking landscapes of South Iceland on this South Coast small group tour. Departing from Reykjavik, hotel pick-up begins at 8:30 AM and may take up to 30 minutes. Please dress warmly in waterproof layers and wear comfortable shoes to fully enjoy the day.
Leaving Reykjavik, we follow the scenic Viking Trail past the charming towns of Selfoss and Hvolsvöllur. As we travel further south, the flat farmlands transform into dramatic mountains, glaciers, and volcanoes. On a clear day, the distant Westman Islands can be seen glistening on the horizon.
Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, famous for its path that allows visitors to walk behind its cascading curtain. Nearby, we visit the hidden gem Gljúfrabúi, tucked away in the cliffs. Continuing east, we arrive at the powerful Skógafoss Waterfall, plunging 60 meters into the river below—a true highlight of the South Coast.
We then reach the picturesque village of Vík í Mýrdal, the southernmost town in Iceland. From the hilltop church, you can capture panoramic photos of the coastline and surrounding landscapes. Just outside the village, we explore the world-famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Marvel at the basalt columns, sea stacks, and the roaring waves of the North Atlantic crashing against the dark volcanic sands.
Before returning to Reykjavik, we visit the Sólheimajökull Glacier, where you can step onto ancient ice shaped by centuries of natural forces. This final stop offers an unforgettable experience before the journey back, giving you time to reflect on the stunning beauty of Iceland’s South Coast.
