The tour is in Reykjavik and is all-inclusive, expert guide and all food!
With our selection of local food treats, you can check off many things on your Icelandic food bucket list, and you sure won’t be disappointed with the quality of the restaurants we handpicked as our partners.
One of the best things about a food tour is getting a sense of the country’s history while eating something delicious & exciting. All our guides are experts and graduates from the Tour guide school of Iceland, but more importantly, they know how to entertain and educate simultaneously.
You will visit 5 iconic restaurants where you can try traditional and delicious soups, fish, seafood, meat, dairy, dessert, drinks, and alcohol. The one and only hot dog from Bæjarins Besta stand is included.
We do accommodate dietary restrictions & allergies such as gluten & lactose intolerance, vegetarians & more! Please send us an email if you need a special menu.
Meeting location
Please be at Ingolfstorg Square in the center of Reykjavik by the two stone high seat pillars (over 2 meters high) 5 minutes before the tour’s departure. If you walk down Laugavegur (The main shopping street), please continue until you come to the square, always walking straight down until you can’t continue further. On Ingolfur Square, you can see Kvosin, a small grocery market, and Center Hotel Plaza.
You can also choose one of the hotels in the city center as the meeting location.
Please dress according to the weather; in Iceland, that means be prepared for any weather! It’s only about a 2,5 km walk, and please come hungry!
Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations can be canceled 24 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.
Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 24 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
If you do need to cancel your tour, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
We meet up at Ingolfstorg Square in the center of Reykjavik by the two stone high seat pillars (over 2 meters high); the square is at the beginning of Austurstræti (Austurstræti 1) and is squared off by the streets Aðalstræti, Hafnarstræti, Veltusund, and Vallarstræti. If you walk down Laugavegur (The main shopping street), please continue until you come to the square, always walking straight down until you can\’t continue further. On Ingolfur square, you can see Kvosin, a small grocery market, and Center Hotel Plaza.
