Embark on a Private Hot Spring Snorkeling Tour at Lake Kleifarvatn, one of Iceland’s most extraordinary geothermal wonders. This unique adventure allows you to snorkel in bubbling hot springs beneath the surface of a volcanic lake—an experience you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Just 30 minutes from Reykjavík, Lake Kleifarvatn lies hidden in a dramatic volcanic landscape. As you prepare for your snorkeling tour, the silence of the surroundings and the scent of sulfur remind you that you are in the heart of Iceland’s geothermal zone. On this private snorkeling experience, you’ll enjoy both comfort and exclusivity as you explore the magical underwater world.
The hot springs, discovered only recently, are about a 150-meter swim from the shore. While snorkeling in Lake Kleifarvatn, you’ll encounter colorful white and yellow sulfur deposits on the lakebed. As you get closer to the geothermal vents, shimmering bubbles rise from the earth, creating the surreal sensation of “swimming in a glass of Champagne.” Knowing that you are snorkeling inside a volcanic caldera makes this Private Hot Spring Snorkeling Tour even more unforgettable.
After the snorkeling session, your guide will serve refreshments by the lake. The tour continues to Seltún Geothermal Area, where you’ll walk among steaming vents, boiling mud pools, and vibrant mineral deposits—another highlight of Iceland’s geothermal activity.
