The Icelandic Lava Show in Reykjavik is the only live lava show in the world, offering visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience real molten lava up close. This award-winning attraction has gained global recognition for its innovative concept, educational value, and cultural significance. With glowing customer reviews, it has quickly become one of Iceland’s highest-rated experiences and a must-see highlight for anyone visiting Reykjavik.
During the Lava Show, you will witness red-hot molten lava flowing right in front of your eyes. Feel the radiant heat, hear the sizzling sounds, and watch as the glowing lava slowly cools and solidifies. It’s an unforgettable combination of science, art, and nature – truly edutainment at its finest.
Visitors are advised to arrive at least 20 minutes before the show begins. When the lava is poured into the showroom, temperatures rise significantly, so removing some layers of clothing beforehand is recommended. The experience is completely safe, but due to the heat, pregnant women, young children, and guests with cardiovascular conditions may prefer sitting near the back or close to the exits.
For safety, all visitors must wear protective goggles throughout the performance. This is particularly important when the lava is cooling and solidifying, as small fragments may break off during the process.
The Lava Show in Reykjavik is unlike any other attraction in the world. It offers a fascinating, immersive journey into the power of Icelandic nature, making it perfect for families, travellers, and anyone interested in geology, science, or Iceland’s fiery volcanic landscapes. If you’re looking for a unique activity that combines education, entertainment, and raw natural beauty, the Icelandic Lava Show is a must-see in Reykjavik.
