Glacier Ice Cave and Snowmobile Tour from Gullfoss

Experience one of Iceland’s most thrilling adventures with our Glacier Ice Cave and Snowmobile Tour from Gullfoss. After exploring the famous Golden Circle, park your car at Gullfoss Café where our professional guides and the impressive super trucks of Mountaineers of Iceland will be waiting. From here, the journey begins into the Icelandic highlands toward the mighty Langjökull glacier, the second largest glacier in Iceland.

The ride itself is an adventure, as our massive trucks navigate rugged mountain tracks and snowy landscapes. On arrival at the glacier base camp, we provide warm snowsuits, helmets, and all necessary gear to ensure comfort during your snowmobile ride.

After gearing up, you’ll receive clear instructions from our expert guides on how to operate the snowmobiles. A valid driver’s license is required to ride, but passengers are welcome. With two people sharing each snowmobile (or one per vehicle for an additional fee), you’ll set off across the glacier’s endless snowy expanse. Depending on weather, you may ride in clear conditions with panoramic mountain views, or experience the mysterious whiteouts that locals call “the moods of Mountaineers.”

The highlight of the tour is a visit to our newly discovered Ice Cave, carved into ancient glacial ice that is more than 1,000 years old. Inside, you’ll see dramatic layers of ice and volcanic ash from eruptions throughout history. Our guides will share fascinating insights about Iceland’s glaciers and their ever-changing nature.

The return journey includes another thrilling ride across the glacier and back down the highlands in our monster trucks. This 4-hour adventure combines snowmobiling, ice caving, and unforgettable scenery—a story you’ll tell long after your Iceland trip.

Tour details: Age limit 6 years, one child per adult, bring waterproof clothing, snacks, and sturdy outdoor shoes. Weather and road conditions may affect timing.
