Black Sand Beach Horseback Riding Tour
This Black Beach Horseback Riding Tour is an easy-going one-hour ride ideally suited for beginners and people who don’t go horse riding often, but we welcome riders of all abilities. Our horses are friendly and sure-footed, perfect for enjoying the wild Icelandic terrain. In the summer, there is a chance to spot puffins flying above us, and in winter the ever-changing weather highlights the landscape’s rugged beauty.
The tours are mostly at walking speed, but for those who are capable there is the chance to try some tölt, the special gait of the Icelandic horse.
Please note we have a weight limit of 100 kg / 220 lbs, and riders must be aged 10+. Please dress according to the weather – gloves and good sneakers or hiking boots are recommended.
We ask you to be at the stable, dressed and ready to ride, 15 minutes before your departure time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations can be canceled 48 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to departure are non-refundable.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@iat.is.
Please be mindful of possible time zone differences. Iceland is in the GMT time zone and cancellations must be submitted at least 48 hours before departure in Icelandic local time (GMT).
If you do need to cancel your tour, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
