Myvatn Nature Baths – Geothermal Spa in North Iceland
Myvatn Nature Baths is one of the top geothermal attractions in North Iceland. Here, you can relax in natural hot spring water while enjoying spectacular views. The design of the baths combines tradition with tasteful modern touches, giving guests an authentic Icelandic spa experience.
Two steam baths sit directly above an active geothermal area. Warm sulfur steam rises through floor vents, creating a natural sauna effect. The bathing lagoon receives its water from a borehole that reaches 2,500 meters into the ground. This geothermal source ensures a steady flow of warm, mineral-rich water.
The milky-blue water contains sulfur, silica, and other healing minerals. Many visitors report softer skin and improved well-being after bathing. Whether you want to ease sore muscles, recharge after travel, or simply enjoy Iceland’s spa culture, Mývatn Nature Baths offers the perfect setting.
After soaking, you can visit Café Kvika. The café serves light meals, snacks, and drinks. From its windows, you can admire Lake Mývatn and the volcanic scenery that surrounds it. The combination of good food and stunning views makes the experience even more memorable.
Bring your swimsuit and towel when you visit. If you forget them, the baths offer rentals for your convenience. With everything provided on-site, your only task is to relax and enjoy.
A visit to Mývatn Nature Baths is more than just bathing. It is a chance to connect with Iceland’s nature and culture. Warm water, fresh air, and dramatic landscapes create an unforgettable spa experience in North Iceland.
