The Glacier Lagoon tour takes you along the dynamic South Coast of Iceland. You will explore the varied landscape of this area and travel all the way to the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. On the way, you’ll also see some beautiful waterfalls, charming villages and black sand deserts. This tour offers a full day of exploration for adventurous travelers.
After pickup in Reykjavík, you will drive through the lush Icelandic countryside to the beautiful Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. With ice breaking away from the Vatnajökull glacier and drifting out to the ocean, this quaint lagoon is one of Iceland’s most remarkable destinations. To add to the enjoyment, seals can often be spotted in the lagoon. At the glacier lagoon, you will have time to enjoy the stunning views of the lagoon. You will also have time to walk down to the so-called Diamond Beach. This picture perfect location offers a dramatic visual contrast where chunks of ice sit on a black sand beach.
After visiting Jökulsárlón, it’s time to drive back to Reykjavík. Your exploration is not over though, as the tour makes a couple of stops before arriving in Reykjavík. You’ll visit the charming village of Vík, the most southern village in Iceland. Next, you’ll drive to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall which is famous for being the waterfall you can walk behind.
The Glacier Lagoon tour is one of the longest tours in Iceland, but as you drive back to Reykjavík after a long and busy day, it should all be worth it. You will be dropped off at your selected location in Reykjavík.
