The Pearl Tour
An Iceland adventure where you will experience some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena by exploring the Golden Circle, topped off with an unforgettable snowmobile tour on Langjökull glacier.
The Golden Circle tour
Allows visitors to get in touch with some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena. Our first stop is at Þingvellir National Park, which is one of Iceland’s most significant historical sites where Iceland’s first parliament was founded in the year 930 AD.
From Þingvellir we head along mountain tracks toward the world-renowned geothermal area around Geysir hot spring, Geysir lies in the Haukadalur valley on the slopes of Laugarfjall hill The research of sinter shows that Geysir has been active for approximately 10,000 years.
The oldest accounts of hot springs at Haukadalur date back to 1294, when earthquakes in the area caused significant changes in local neighbouring landscape creating several new hot springs.
Changes in the activity of the Geysir and the surrounding geysers are strongly related to earthquake activity. The nearby geyser Strokkur erupts much more frequently than Geysir, erupting to heights of up to 30 metres every few minutes.
After we finish exploring Geysir we continue on to Gullfoss (“the Golden waterfall”), where your proximity to its edge is so close you can feel the spray of the glacial water on your face. Next we kick the action into higher gear to get even closer to Iceland’s nature and go for a snowmobiling tour on Langjökull, Iceland’s second largest glacier
