Landmannalaugar Semi-Private Tour – 6 People Max!

This tour departs from Reykjavik, and your pick-up starts at 8 AM from a designated bus stop/your hotel and can take up to 30 minutes. We appreciate your patience.

Hikers’ paradise

Landmannalaugar in Iceland is a magnificent place full of lava fields surrounded by colorful mountains and one of Iceland’s most popular hiking trails. Landmannalaugar means “Land mans pool” because of the natural geothermal pools in the area. In the past, it was a welcome place for travelers who had traveled the country on horseback or on foot to stop and bathe. Remember to bring your swimsuit and a towel on the trip!

This tour offers an optional easy/moderate two hours hike.

Fossabrekkur

Wonderfully lush place! Close to the roots of Hekla is the source of the river Rangá. This is a wonderfully lush place in the middle of the desert. The river comes from underneath the lava and is ice-cold and fresh. So bring your water bottles and fill them with the best water you can find.

The Black Sand Valley

The South Coast offers the Black Sand Beach – on this tour, we will visit the Black Sand Valley. We will stop at the top of a hill with a view over a valley covered with volcanic ash from the historical volcano Hekla. A place where you feel like you’ve been stranded on the moon.

Landmannalaugar

We will stop in Landmannalaugar for a few hours. The guide will offer you a hike up to Brennisteinsalda. During the hike, you are surrounded by nature so peculiar that you would hardly be surprised if you saw an elf running by. After about two hours of hiking, there still is enough time to take a bath in the natural pool when returning to the huts.

Hnausapollur Crater

Hnausapollur is a massive crater on our way from Landmannalaugar. The magnificent view over the crater with high contrast, red lava, and the blue lake makes this stop special.

You will return to Reykjavik around 21:00.

Please wear warm clothes, waterproof layers, and hiking shoes.

Please bring a packed lunch, snacks, drinks, a swimsuit, and a towel.
