As Ice Caves are a natural phenomenon and Iceland’s weather can change rapidly, the tour operator reserves the right to alter the tour itinerary if conditions inside the cave are not safe. This can, for example, be caused by heavy rains in the days before the tour. As the ice caves are the glaciers plumbing system, excess water floods out through the ice caves which makes them unsafe to visit.
Should this be necessary you’ll be able to explore other cave-like formations such as glacier arches and moulins. Your guide will take you as close to the ice cave as possible, where you can hike around the area and explore.
