The horseback riding from Reykjavík tour is a great addition to a perfect day in the city. The Icelandic horse is known for its five gaits, and of course, it’s friendly nature. Its gentle spirit makes a horseback riding tour a great activity that everyone over the age of 7 can enjoy. Come and spend a few hours on the city’s countryside, and see for yourself why Reykjavík is known for being “next to nature”.
This tour begins at a beautiful, well-established horse farm on the outskirts of Reykjavík. Here you will meet the welcoming owners and meet up with your buddy for the day, a friendly Icelandic horse! After chatting with your guides, they will choose the perfect companion for you based on your prior experience. The Icelandic horse is famous for its five gaits, and during the tour, you will learn more about this unique quality. If you are interested, you can also learn more about farm life in Iceland.
Depending on the day and the weather, your guides will select one of three stunning routes to ride. This can either be the lush valley the farm is located in or a riverbank route that crosses the steam many times. Yet another option is a hillside behind the farm that leads up to a beautiful waterfall. Each route has its own beautiful characteristics, so you are sure to have a stunning ride whichever route you take.
After the tour, you will either be driven back to Reykjavík or you can continue your exploration of Iceland with your rental car.
