Golden Circle & Glacier Super Jeep tour
On this tour, we will take you to number of Iceland’s national pearls. Þingvellir National Park is great geological and historical importance world site and where the Icelandic Parliament was established in 930.
Thingvellir National Park
The continental drift between the North American and Eurasian Plates can be clearly seen in the cracks or faults which traverse the region, the largest one, Almannagjá, being a veritable canyon. This also causes the often-measurable earthquakes in the area.
Geysir and Gullfoss
In Haukadalur valley we will find hot springs Geysir and Strokkur. The geyser (Strokkur) will erupt about every 4 to 8 minutes, sometimes up to 40 m high.Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. With her wide curved three-step fall “staircase” she really is a sight to see. The Golden Circle Tour starts when we pick you up at your accommodation in Reykjavík, our first stop is at Thingvellir National Park (Parliament fields) containing cultural history and unique geology. Nowhere else in the world is the continental drift more visible than in Thingvellir.
From Thingvellir we go to Haukadalur to see the famous Geysir and Strokkur geothermal area which are both very interesting to watch. At Geysir we will take a lunch break before heading to the magnificent queen of Icelandic waterfalls Gullfoss which is located in the canyon of Hvítá river about 130 km inland from Reykjavík. Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful and without a doubt most popular waterfalls in Iceland. From Gullfoss we will head to Langjökull
The ride to Langjökull glacier is where we will justify our huge tires and you get the super jeep experience you will never forget. Langjökull (Icelandic for “long glacier”) is the second largest ice cap in Iceland and the volume is 195 km³ and the ice is up to 580 m.
