Day One

Please be ready at your pickup location at 08:30. Pickup starts at 8:30 and the tour will depart from Reykjavík at 09:00. On day one, you will visit these stunning places.

Þingvellir National Park

The Þingvellir National Park is not only a place of natural beauty but also of historical significance for Icelanders. It is here that the Alþing general assembly was established around 930 AD. Since then, numerous historical events have taken place in this area. This is also where you can see how the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are slowly drifting apart. Þingvellir are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Geysir Hot Spring Area

The Geysir geothermal area is named for the sleeping giant Geysir. It has been entertaining onlookers for more than 1,000 years with jets of boiling hot water shooting high in the sky. Though Geysir sometimes goes inactive for years at a time, as he is now, Strokkur still likes to put on a dazzling display, blasting water as high as 40 m (131 ft).

Gullfoss Waterfall

Popular on lists of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe, Gullfoss waterfall is a must stop on any Golden Circle tour. Powered by pure glacial runoff, water shoots along the two-tiered falls before plunging into the rugged canyon far below.

Kerið Crater

Formed by a volcanic eruption some 3,000 years ago, this colorful crater is made extra special by the turquoise lake at its bottom. The lake contrasts beautifully with the striking red-and-black walls of the crater. Entry fee to this area is included in the tour price.

Day Two

On day two you will explore five beautiful waterfalls and visit a black sand beach.

Seljalandsfoss

The famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall is located beneath the famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano. This is the waterfall that’s known for being the one you can walk behind. Close by is the beautiful but less known waterfall Gljufrabui which you will also visit.

Skógarfoss

With a drop of 60 meters, Skógarfoss is one of the most impressive waterfalls on the South Coast. Here waterproof clothes will come in real handy!

Kvernufoss & Írafoss

In addition to the famous waterfalls you will visit today, you will also stop at the secret waterfalls of Kvernufoss and Írafoss.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

The black sand beach of Reynisfjara nestles under Mt. Reynisfjall. Black basalt has been shaped into amazing different formations, most notably the famous Reynisdrangar. Beware the might of the Atlantic Ocean which looms with its powerful waves.

Northern Lights

If conditions are good, you can go out looking for the Northern Lights in the evening.

Day 3

In the morning you will set out on a true glacier adventure before heading back to Reykjavík

Skaftafell National Park

Skaftafell is part of the Vatnajökull National Park.  The views in Skaftafell are truly amazing, on a good day you will get an unforgettable view of the mighty Vatnajökull glacier.

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

The Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is filled with huge chunks of ice that have cracked off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. Some icebergs wash on shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin. Jökulsárlón is known for being one of the pearls of Icelandic nature, and you do not want to miss a visit to this stunning lagoon.

Blue Ice Cave Tour

Ice caves only form in the winter when glacial water freezes to create this unique natural phenomenon. Each season, the local glacier experts find the best caves to visit in an enjoyable and safe way. From the glacier lagoon, they drive you through the best of Icelandic highlands in a special Super Jeep to the ice cave. There you will have about an hour to explore and enjoy the magical blue caves. Please do not forget to bring your camera!

After this unforgettable adventure, you drive back to the Jokulsarlon where you join the bus again to head back to Reykjavik. On the way back, you will, of course, be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of the South Coast and to make a quick stop in Vik village for some refreshments, while keeping an eye out for the Northern lights if conditions are right.

Guest usually return to Reykjavík around 21:30 in the evening. You will be dropped off at your selected location.
