Please note that this tour requires a minimum of 2 passengers. If we do not meet this minimum, you can either reschedule your tour or receive a full refund.

Health and Safety Guidelines

The tour may not be suitable for seniors (65+ years), pregnant women, or those with heart or back issues. To participate, you must be able to stand in your seat and meet a minimum height of 145 cm. We also provide overalls up to size 3XL. Furthermore, a waiver must be signed upon arrival.

Policy on Sightings

If we do not see any whales or dolphins during the tour, we do not refund the tour price. Instead, we offer a complimentary ticket that is valid for our Classic Whale Watching tour. This ticket remains valid for 2 years and is non-transferable.

Finally, dress warmly for the northern ocean. Please bring outdoor clothing such as a wool or fleece sweater, warm headgear, and gloves. Sturdy shoes are also recommended for your comfort.

On the Reykjavík Express Whale Watching tour, you go on an exciting ride on the Faxaflói Bay! This tour is the perfect addition to a great day in Reykjavík. Head out to sea with an experienced captain and search for whales in their natural environment. This fun ride lets you see Reykjavík from a different perspective, viewing the Harpa music hall and more from the oceanside. Departing from the Old Harbor in Reykjavík, your ticket includes access to the Visitor Centre, where you can learn more about the whales in the area before or after your tour.

On this tour, you ride a RIB boat that seats a maximum of 12 guests per tour. Your RIB boat captain will take you to sea, where you’ll explore Faxaflói Bay. During the summer season, from April to October,  the wildlife in the bay is at its highest peak. Common sightings in this area include Minke whales and white-beaked dolphins. Humpback whales and Harbour porpoises are also often spotted in the bay.
