Dynjandi Waterfall & Farm Tour from Ísafjörður Port

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Iceland’s Westfjords on this Dynjandi Waterfall & Farm Tour, starting directly from Ísafjörður Port. Specially designed for cruise passengers, this half-day excursion combines dramatic landscapes, cultural experiences, and one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls. Please check our online calendar for tour availability, as departure times may vary.

Scenic Journey Through the Westfjords

If you have only a day or a few hours in Ísafjörður, this is the ideal tour. After departure, we travel through the Vestfjarðagöng tunnel and continue past charming fishing villages, majestic fjords, and towering mountains. The drive itself is an unforgettable introduction to the raw beauty of the Westfjords.

Dynjandi Waterfall

Our highlight is the spectacular Dynjandi Waterfall, the crown jewel of the region. From the parking area, enjoy a leisurely 20-minute walk along marked trails, passing several smaller waterfalls before reaching the main cascade. Dynjandi, meaning “thunderous” in Icelandic, lives up to its name with its powerful flow.

The waterfall is 30 meters wide at the top and fans out to 60 meters at the base, resembling a shimmering bridal veil. Whether viewed from afar or up close, its sheer size and beauty are awe-inspiring.

Gemlufell Traditional Icelandic Farm

After exploring Dynjandi, we stop at Gemlufell Farm, a working Icelandic farm nestled on the shores of Dýrafjörður. Guests are welcomed with complimentary tea, coffee, and a slice of Hjónabandssæla, the traditional “Happy Marriage” rhubarb and oat cake. This authentic experience offers a glimpse into rural Icelandic life.

Practical Information

The tour concludes with your return to Ísafjörður Port. Please dress warmly, with waterproof layers and sturdy hiking shoes, to fully enjoy this adventure.

A Small Group Guided Tour – Discover the Mysterious Snæfellsnes National Park

Embark on a full-day guided tour to the enchanting Snæfellsnes National Park, a region often called “Iceland in Miniature” thanks to its diverse landscapes. After pickup from your accommodation in Reykjavík, your adventure begins as you head west to experience waterfalls, beaches, dramatic cliffs, and the iconic glacier-capped volcano Snæfellsjökull—the inspiration behind Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Ytri-Tunga, Arnarstapi & Hellnar

The first stop is Ytri-Tunga Beach, known for its resident seal colony. With some luck, you’ll spot them lounging on the shore. Next, explore the charming coastal villages Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where moss-covered lava formations and basalt cliffs meet the roaring Atlantic. A stroll along the seaside cliffs offers unforgettable views and fresh sea air.

Black Pebble Beach, Lóndrangar & Djúpalónssandur

Your journey continues to Lóndrangar, striking black basalt sea stacks, followed by Djúpalónssandur, a dramatic black pebble beach once used as a training ground for fishermen. Here, traditional “lifting stones” tested the strength of sailors, ranging from 23 kg to a daunting 154 kg. Can you match the feats of Icelandic fishermen of old?

Kirkjufell – Church Mountain

The tour concludes at Kirkjufell, Iceland’s most photographed mountain, paired with the graceful Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall.

Silver Circle Small Group Day Tour | Canyon Baths, Waterfalls & Sagas

Experience the beauty of West Iceland on the Silver Circle Day Tour, a 9-hour guided adventure through Borgarfjörður. This small-group trip blends stunning nature, geothermal wonders, and rich cultural history. It is the perfect choice for travelers who want both scenery and stories.

Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up in Reykjavík. From there, you travel past Mount Esja and through the Hvalfjörður tunnel. Soon after, you arrive in Borgarnes for a short refreshment stop. Here you can stretch your legs and enjoy the fjord views.

The first major stop is Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. It produces more than 180 liters of boiling water each second. Therefore, it provides hot water for the surrounding towns and villages. On the way, you also pass fast-flowing glacial rivers fed by Langjökull.

Next, you visit two stunning waterfalls. Hraunfossar flows from beneath lava fields in countless rivulets. Just nearby, Barnafoss rushes through a narrow volcanic gorge. Legends say the name comes from a tragic story of two children.

The adventure continues to Húsafell, a cultural oasis between two glaciers. This area is known for birch forests, turf houses, and inspiring local art. Moreover, it is home to the legendary Húsafell Stone, once used to test strength.

A thrilling 4×4 ride follows. You head off-road to reach Langifoss waterfall and the dramatic Deildargil canyon. These natural gems remain hidden from most visitors.

Finally, the highlight arrives at the Húsafell Canyon Baths. Relax in geothermal pools surrounded by serene canyon views. The sustainably built stone baths welcome only 20 guests at a time, making the experience peaceful and authentic.

On the way back to Reykjavík, you stop at Reykholt. Here you see Snorralaug, a historic hot spring mentioned in medieval sagas, and a charming 19th-century timber church. You return refreshed, enriched, and full of memories.

Into the Glacier From Husafell – Ice Cave Adventure

The Into the Glacier From Husafell tour is one of Iceland’s most exciting adventures. It begins in Husafell, a beautiful village in West Iceland. From there, you will head to Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure to prepare for the journey.

With the Into the Glacier From Husafell experience, you step inside a glacier and see bright blue ice formations. Until recently, this was impossible. Thanks to the man-made tunnel, visitors can now explore the glacier safely. As a result, this tour has become one of the country’s most unforgettable attractions.

First, you will board a specially modified glacier vehicle. These vehicles take you across rugged terrain and up to the glacier’s edge. The ride itself is thrilling and offers wide views of Iceland’s Highlands. Once at the entrance, expert English-speaking guides lead you on a one-hour walk inside the ice cave. During the walk, you will also learn about the history and importance of Iceland’s glaciers.

To enjoy your Into the Glacier From Husafell adventure, you should bring the right gear. Pack warm clothes, waterproof layers, sturdy hiking shoes, snacks, and a water bottle. The temperature inside the glacier is cold all year. Therefore, being well prepared will make the tour much more enjoyable.

This experience is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers. It combines stunning scenery with a unique chance to explore deep inside a glacier. In conclusion, do not miss the chance to go Into the Glacier From Husafell and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Join an unforgettable adventure from Reykjavik to Langjökull glacier, home to the world-famous man-made ice cave. This Into the Glacier tour is designed for every adventure lover who wants to experience Iceland’s breathtaking wilderness from the inside of a glacier.

Tour Details

Your pick-up in Reykjavik begins 30 minutes before departure. Free pick-up is available from the Central Bus Station (BSI), with optional extra-paid designated stops.

The journey to Langjökull is incredibly scenic. Along the way, we’ll stop at the stunning Hraunfossar waterfalls, where crystal-clear water flows through ancient lava fields. “Hraun” means lava in Icelandic, and the waterfalls are a reminder of the glacier’s volcanic past.

Once we reach the glacier’s edge, specially modified glacier vehicles will take you across the icy terrain to the entrance of the ice cave. From there, experienced English-speaking guides will lead you inside Langjökull glacier for an awe-inspiring one-hour walk. Marvel at the dazzling blue ice deep within Iceland’s second-largest glacier – a once-in-a-lifetime sight.

What to Expect

The tour lasts the whole day, and you will return to Reykjavik around 19:00. Along the way, you’ll have time to enjoy panoramic glacier views and the raw beauty of Iceland’s highlands.

Please bring warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, a water bottle, and food. Meals are not included, but snack stops are available at gas stations.
